IEEE Computer Society Recognizes the 2026 Class of Distinguished Contributors

It is my honor, as Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Contributor Recognition Program, to announce the 2026 Class of Distinguished Contributors (DC) of the IEEE Computer Society.

Recognition as a DC is a permanent designation honoring members and affiliates who have made significant and sustained technical contributions to computing, the Computer Society, the broader computing profession and community, and humanity. These contributions may span applied or theoretical computing, research, industry innovation, education, professional leadership, community building, and the responsible application of technology and show a commitment to advancing the field and using their knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and service to create meaningful and lasting impact.

DC recognition is a well-deserved acknowledgment of professional achievement, technical leadership, and sustained contributions to the computing community and affirms the difference their work has made to others.

For the Computer Society, the program highlights the extraordinary depth of expertise, innovation, leadership, and volunteer commitment found throughout our global membership. It enables the Society to recognize individuals whose contributions strengthen our conferences, publications, standards, educational activities, technical communities, professional programs, and worldwide network.

For the broader computing profession and community, the 2026 Class represents the many ways computing professionals advance knowledge, solve difficult problems, mentor future generations, build inclusive professional communities, and develop technologies that improve how people live and work.

Their accomplishments also support the IEEE mission of fostering technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. By recognizing those whose work connects technical achievement with professional and societal impact, the Distinguished Contributor Recognition Program reinforces the responsibility of the computing profession to apply technology thoughtfully, ethically, and for the greater good.
