Seunghwa Kang is a senior system software engineer at NVIDIA with expertise in high-performance parallel computing. His career interest is in building software infrastructure that enables domain scientists/application developers to easily use large parallel computers and advanced mathematical solvers. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. His doctoral thesis focuses on developing algorithms for emerging applications on a diverse spectrum of computer systems. Seunghwa Kang joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in 2011 where he created Biocellion: a high-performance software platform to speed-up biological system modeling and simulation. Since December 2018, he has been working for the RAPIDS project at NVIDIA to accelerate data science workflow using GPUs.
